OAK CREEK (AP) — Members of Wisconsin’s Sikh community are planning another 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) run in memory of the six victims gunned down in their Milwaukee-area temple two years ago.

The Chardhi Kala 6K will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, in Oak Creek. The Punjabi name refers to a state of constant optimism, which reflects an acceptance of God’s will.

The $15 registration fee will help support a scholarship fund for students who have dedicated themselves to community service.

The run commemorates the shooting on Aug. 5, 2012, when a white supremacist walked into the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and opened fire. He killed several priests and worshippers and injured five other people before killing himself.
